Success in this role means delivering projects on schedule, within scope, and with a strong balance between customer satisfaction and financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative support as needed to keep work moving accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage material selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedules for assigned projects.
  • Secure pricing and availability from vendors and subcontractors, including scope, terms, and conditions, and oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.
  • Coordinate jobsite panel and field device locations and ensure installation aligns with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
  • Complete controller loading, device verification, commissioning, as-built documentation, and system validation to confirm proper operation.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers, and subcontractors.
  • Deliver site-specific training for owners and operators and ensure project closeout documentation, manuals, and warranty communication are completed properly.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors and participate in job progress meetings as needed.
  • Report project status to management and provide monthly forecasts for revenue, costs, and gross margin.

How You Will Do It
  • Apply established standards to complete installation hardware design and software programming, and translate the design into clear guidance for customers and project partners.
  • Review contractual scope carefully, identify change-order opportunities, and respond to client bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes with sound judgment.
  • Stay close to the work at the jobsite, remove obstacles quickly, and keep the customer informed with timely, direct communication.
  • Manage project execution with a strong focus on safety, integrity, and accountability from planning through warranty closeout.
  • Use disciplined follow-through to improve every day through candid problem-solving, accurate documentation, and consistent cost control.
  • Collaborate with technicians, designers, subcontractors, and project engineers as one team to deliver cost-effective solutions that meet customer expectations.
  • Track billing, cash flow, and project cost activity closely so work is completed on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Provide practical coaching and technical support that helps others execute delegated work accurately and professionally.

Qualifications
  • 6 years of related field experience in the HVAC/Controls industry or similar Building Automation Systems, with System Design or System Engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on technical experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical material clearly to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to perform work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong personal computer skills.
  • Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems.
