Full Job Description
Job Summary: Plans, organizes, and coordinates all human resource activities. Answer inquiries concerning employment. Processes new employees, maintains personnel files and status changes, processes terminated employees, processes and administers payroll and benefits.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or HR certification.
  2. Personal Job-Related Skills: Leadership abilities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer and office equipment knowledge.
  3. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required. HR certification preferred.
  4. Experience: Minimum two years' Human Resource and/or Payroll experience.
  5. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching is required with the lifting of items up to a weight of 40 pounds.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Meets with department managers to determine staffing needs.
  2. Conduct recruiting programs and screening, interview, and selection processes.
  3. Processes new employees into the workforce.
  4. Recommends policies to be approved by Administration and establishes procedures to support approved policies.
  5. Reviews personnel practices to ensure they comply with established policies.
  6. Revises existing policies or recommends new policies when necessary.
  7. Serves as the custodian of the official personnel records of employees.
  8. Determines employment categories of employees and manages the compensation plan and pay policies.
  9. Provides systems for evaluating employees' performance of their job duties.
  10. Establishes employee development programs including in-service and continuing education opportunities.
  11. Maintains programs to further employee relations.
  12. Administers the disciplinary system established in hospital policy.
  13. Administers payroll and employee benefits program.
  14. Provides and monitors the procedures for an employee's termination of employment.
  15. Keeps the Administrator, department managers, and supervisors advised of new laws and changes in personnel policies and practice.
  16. Counsels with supervisors at all levels concerning personnel problems or employee relations matters.
  17. Provides interpretation of personnel policies and supportive procedures and practices.
  18. Determines employment categories of employees and manages the compensation plan and pay policies.
