Job Title: Human Resources Business PartnerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR team in a unionized manufacturing environment. This role entails providing comprehensive HR support across areas such as recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, investigations, performance management, and HR administration. The successful candidate will be adept at both strategic thinking and tactical execution, collaborating effectively across various teams and levels.
Responsibilities- Support management by promoting, communicating, and implementing human resources programs and initiatives.
- Deliver full-cycle recruitment for all disciplines related to product engineering and CNC manufacturing operations.
- Manage the student Co-Op program, including collaborating with universities and organizing Co-Op events.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Advise and coach management in areas of employee/labor relations.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough investigations.
- Assist with the management of collective agreements within a unionized environment.
- Assist with grievance procedures at all steps.
- Prepare for arbitrations and other legal activities.
- Foster an open, constructive relationship with Union and shop stewards.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Act as a subject-matter expert in employment law, human rights, common law jurisprudence, arbitral law, and labor relations.
Essential Skills- 5+ years of experience in a multi-disciplinary HR role supporting employee relations, investigations, grievances, and labor relations.
- Full-cycle recruitment experience for engineering and technical roles.
- Experience in a unionized environment, including collective agreements, grievance handling, and union negotiations.
- HRIS experience and strong administrative/documentation skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing or design-and-build environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with UKG.
- CPHR designation.
- Experience managing or supporting Co-op and Student Recruitment Programs.
- Experience working with post-secondary institutions and campus recruitment initiatives.
- Experience with event coordination.
- Strong Excel skills, including data management, cleanup, and presentation creation.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires working fully on-site, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. The dress code is business casual, and the location is transit accessible. The HRBP will be part of a team of four, reporting to the HR Director, and supporting both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Richmond, BC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $86000.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
