Job Description
The Unit Head leads and manages a Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) work unit and participates in the coordination and leadership activities of the section and division. Develops and maintains internal and external client and vendor relationships. Is a coach and mentor to staff within the work unit. Represent the unit to and participate in HTM committees and task groups. Plans and manages Mayo resources (projects, people, facilities, money and equipment) in an effective and efficient manner. Develops and fosters strategies and directions that support section and division goals and objectives. Provide leadership in the selection, installation and ongoing support of medical equipment and information systems. May serve as Secretary, Assistant Secretary, or member of HTM for institutional committees.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience, which includes 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience. Experienced with committee and consensus-managed, physician-led organization. Master's degree preferred with 4 years of experience. Experience working in healthcare technology.
Requires skill in effective decision making and effective consensus management. Strong understanding of finance, business processes, budgeting and human resources development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, must be familiar with general biomedical equipment such as patient monitoring, defibrillators, non-imaging Cath lab equipment, etc.
Ideal candidate should also understand the Joint Commission survey process and compliance metrics. Demonstrated history of continuing education in personnel and administrative processes. Experience with personnel management, resource allocation, coaching and mentoring. Experience with managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied products and services. Some travel may be required in this position.
