The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

HR Policy & Workplace Standards Sr. Business Partner

AsaHRPolicy & Workplace Standards Sr. Business Partner, you will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted consultant on complex performance management and workplace practices matters. You willpartnerwith leaders, HR teams, Employee Relations, and Legal to assess risk, influence decision-making, and drive fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes across the enterprise.

In this role, you willsupport HQ functions by leadingconsultationon sensitive and high-complexity performance management matters,providingguidance on workplace practices, anddevelopingrecommendations that balance business objectives, team member experience, and organizational risk. You will leverage deep expertise, strong judgment, and analytical capabilities to resolve complex issues, identify trends, and influence continuous improvement in performance management practices.

Success in this role requires the ability to independently manage ambiguity, build strong partnerships, coach stakeholders through difficult decisions, and contribute to the evolution of workplace practices through thought leadership, process improvement, and subject matter expertise.

KeyResponsibilities

• Lead performance management practices across HQ functionstosupportconsistent, risk-informeddecisions.
• Use casetrendsto identifyinconsistenciesandemerging risksandrecommendimprovements todecision qualityand team member experience.
• Equip leaders,HR partners,and cross-functional stakeholdersto applyperformance managementpolicies andworkplaceexpectationsthroughpractical guidance, coaching, and education.
• Guidesensitiveand complexperformance management matters, engagingHR, Employee Relations, Legal, and business leadersas needed to address risk and reachconsistent,defensible outcomes.
• Maintain currentexpertisein employment law, workplace practices, and industry trends.
• Lead or contribute to cross-functionalinitiatives thatstrengthenperformance management, operational consistency, and team member experience.
  

About You:

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in employee relations, HR consulting, workplace practices, performance or case management ora relateddiscipline.
• Familiarity with related HR disciplines such as accommodations, leave, investigations, hotline or EEO processes.
• Strong consultation, influence and communication skills, including the ability to advise and coach leaders through complex people decisions and draft clear, effective communication.
• Abilitytodeliverongoing work whilebuildingandimprovingprocesses, tools, and guidancethroughstakeholder feedback.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess case histories, identify trends and risks, and recommend sound decisions and improvements to performance management and team member experience.
• Ability totranslateHR policies and workplace practicesinto clear, practical guidance for leaders and HR partners.
• Sound judgment and discretion inindependentlymanaging competingpriorities, ambiguity, andsensitive,complex employee matters.
• Ability to buildstrongpartnershipswithleaders, HR,and cross-functional teams.  

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Targets needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
