Position Summary:We're looking for an HR Operations Lead to own and run the people infrastructure behind our rapid growth. This person will take ownership of our core HR programs end to end - from HRIS and compliance to benefits and employee relations - and be the steady, trusted point of contact for every employee and manager at Walden. You'll bring structure and care to a fast-moving environment, and you'll help make our existing HR foundation more robust and scalable.
Core Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and HR-related matters across the company
- Own and maintain our HRIS (Rippling), ensuring accurate records, clean data hygiene, and well-organized personnel files
- Manage benefits administration and serve as the internal partner to our external broker, including employee education and open enrollment
- Ensure ongoing compliance across HR programs - multi-state employment law, required postings, recordkeeping - and support audits as needed
- Guide managers on employee relations best practices, including performance issues, disciplinary matters, and workplace grievances or disputes
- Own the employee offboarding process end to end
- Act as the liaison between employees needing immigration support and outside legal counsel
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure a seamless handoff from recruiting into onboarding
- Strengthen and scale our existing HR operations programs, policies, and processes to support the company's continued growth
- Manage relationships with HR vendors and consultants supporting the function
- Directly manage the HR Coordinator, once hired, to support transactional HR operations volume
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in HR generalist or HR operations roles
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms; Rippling experience a strong plus
- Working knowledge of employment law and multi-state HR compliance requirements
- Experience with benefits administration and broker partnerships
- Strong communicator, comfortable connecting with a wide range of people across the company
- Highly organized and self-directed, with sound judgment on when to escalate
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field
- SHRM or HCI certification
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment
- Interest or exposure to robotics/hardware companies

The pay range for this role is:
142,500 - 189,750 USD per year (BOS)
