Description & Requirements

MANTECH seeks an experienced, strategic, and agile Human Resources Director to lead Corporate Functions and the Human Resources Business Advisor (HRBA) homeroom. This is a hybrid position in Herndon, VA, requiring onsite presence 2-3 days a week.

In this dual-impact role, you will drive executive-level people strategies, lead high-priority workforce initiatives, and align enterprise HR operations directly with business growth and national security missions. Additionally, you will serve as a strategic program manager leading enterprise-wide initiatives across the Human Capital organization in direct partnership with executive leadership.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Align executive-level people strategies directly with business growth, corporate functions, and national security missions.
  • Lead the HRBA team as strategic HR business advisors to corporate employees and executives, proactively addressing workforce trends, talent management, and organizational design.
  • Translate complex business objectives into actionable workforce solutions within a high-operating-tempo environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR Business Advisor team, driving functional excellence and operational consistency across the enterprise.
  • Manage team performance, career development, and workload distribution to build a high-performing HRBA capability.
  • Partner directly with executive leadership to design comprehensive project plans, establish milestones, and drive enterprise-wide HR initiatives to closure.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to align cross-organizational priorities, navigate uncertainty, and ensure seamless project execution.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Human Capital functions, Business Operations, Management Consulting, or Leadership Development.
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership roles directly supporting executive stakeholders.
  • Deep experience within the Government Contracting (GovCon) sector and familiarity with cleared workforce dynamics.
  • Proven track record managing strategic planning, executive communications, and project governance for senior leadership.
  • Experience utilizing enterprise HRIS platforms, such as Workday.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to switch between broad enterprise strategy and tactical operational execution under tight deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or MBA in a related field.
  • 5+ years of Human Resource leadership experience directly supporting Executive/C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Active SHRM-SCP or SPHR professional certification.
  • Advanced expertise with Workday HRIS operations and reporting.


Clearance Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.


Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $144,900.00-$260,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
