Responsibilities

Carolinas Palliative Care & HospiceGroup isseeking a full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join an interdisciplinary inpatient palliative care team. This role offers meaningful, team-oriented work with physicians, APPs, nurses, socialworkersand chaplain support, plus exposure to a teaching environment that hosts medical students,residentsand APP fellows.

Position Overview

  • Provide inpatient palliative care as part of a specialized, interdisciplinary team serving patients and families with serious illness needs.

  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, socialworkersand hospital-based chaplain support to deliver compassionate, coordinated care.

  • Contribute to a teaching-oriented environment that supports medical students,residentsand APP fellows.

Schedule & Call Expectations

  • Schedule:Monday through Friday, standard daytime schedule. Office/clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Call:Call rotation every 10 to12 weeks,approximately 3to 4 times per year.

  • Backup support:A physician is always available as backup for APP call responsibilities.

  • Nights/weekends:Call rotation applies as noted; no routine procedure coverage isrequired.

  • Expected volume:Approximately 1,000 visits per year and 3,000 RVUs per year.

Scope of Practice / WhatYouDDo

  • Provide inpatient palliative care consultation and ongoing support for patients and families.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support symptom management, goals-of-carediscussionsand coordinated care planning.

  • Work closely with physician partners, with supervising physician support.

  • Participate in an APP call rotation with physician backup always available.

  • Procedures are notrequiredfor this position.

  • Open ICU coverage is notrequired.

Qualifications

Compensation Structure

  • Base compensationcommensuratewith years of experience, starting at $48.80/hour
