Work you'll do/Responsibilities The test engineer will run manual and automated hardware-in-the-loop functional and regression testing of AV fleets for meeting spaces. This covers Crestron and Q-SYS control logic and interfaces, codec and peripheral interoperability, audio processing and simulated hardware failures. Services include test setup and data generation, test case design, writing and debugging Lua test scripts, staging and racking AV systems, maintaining lab rigs and VLANs, and documenting test procedures for a new space product, all under grip, rigging, electrical and facility safety rules. Deliverables include test cases, Buganizer bug logs, release sign-offs, and daily release readiness and failure reports with workarounds. The successful candidate would possess these skills:
- Execute manual functional and regression tests on AV fleets for meeting and collaboration spaces, using hardware-in-the-loop workflows.
- Perform pre-work for test execution, including software deployment to test environments, hardware configuration and test data generation.
- Design test cases for new features, review them and load them into the test tracking tool; execute exploratory testing, log bugs, verify and retest fixes, and give release sign-off.
- Stage, mount, rack, configure and tear down physical AV test systems to commercial AV design and installation standards.
- Test control logic and user interfaces on Crestron and Q-SYS control platforms; create, execute, translate and debug test scripts, including Lua.
- Validate codec and peripheral interoperability and audio processing behavior across release tracks.
- Execute manual and automated on-device testing.
- Simulate real-world hardware failure scenarios.
- Maintain and validate lab environments, test rigs and network VLANs.
- Help design and document testing procedures for a new space product being ramped up.
- Log engineering discrepancies, documentation gaps and hardware or software anomalies in Buganizer.
- Produce daily fleet release readiness reports and failure reports with troubleshooting steps and proposed workarounds.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
