- Leading the design team in the preparation of designs, technical reports, contract plans, and documents required for the delivery of the Ministry of Transportation's multi-year highway construction program.
- Monitoring overall work progress and technical performance on projects to ensure timelines and targets are being met.
- Providing mentorship, technical guidance, support, and oversight to other engineers and technical staff working on your projects.
- Ensuring that corporate and client QA/QC practices are completed on all projects.
- Maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders;
- Coordinating with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, contractors, etc.
- Preparing proposals, project work plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensuring adherence to design standards, policies, and procedures.
- Mentoring and developing junior design staff.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and P.Eng. designation required.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in highway design and project management.
- Proven ability to lead design teams and prepare technical reports and contract documents.
- Proficient in highway design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and design standards.
- Experience preparing project budgets, schedules, and proposals.
- Skilled in mentoring junior staff and managing client relationships.
- Effective at coordinating with stakeholders, agencies, and contractors.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Ministry of Transportation projects is an asset.
