We are seeking an experienced High Vacuum Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of high and ultra-high vacuum systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise with vacuum equipment, pumps, gauges, and related instrumentation, along with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain systems to ensure optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities: - Install, assemble, and maintain high and ultra-high vacuum systems and components.
- Troubleshoot vacuum leaks, perform leak detection using helium mass spectrometers, and ensure system integrity.
- Operate and maintain pumps (mechanical, turbomolecular, cryogenic, diffusion, and ion pumps).
- Calibrate and repair vacuum gauges and controllers.
- Conduct preventative maintenance according to schedules and detailed service records
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to support testing and experimental setups.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational standards.
Qualifications:- Minimum 2 years of hand-on experience in high or ultra-high vacuum systems.
- Strong knowledge of vacuum theory, pressure measurement, and system design.
- Familiarity with stainless steel piping, fittings, valves, and cleanroom procedures.
- Experience with thin film deposition, semiconductor, or scientific instrumentation environments is a preferred plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Required - precise welding ability.
- Familiarity with machine shop environment
- Associate degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or related technical field preferred.
Work Environment:Industrial manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and grease
Salary Range: $115K-$135K based on experience

One week consists of four workdays (36 hours), and the following week includes five workdays (45 hours). Despite this variation, employees are paid for a consistent 40-hour workweek, with weekly pay.
