Job Title: Healthcare IT / EMR Integration Specialist (NextGen Connect, Mirth, HL7/FHIR)
Location: 100% Remote [SC, GA, NC States Candidates only Consider]
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT / EMR Integration Specialist to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of healthcare applications and interoperability systems. This role will work closely with vendors, clinical teams, and technical staff to ensure seamless EMR integrations and healthcare data exchange.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support end-to-end implementation activities including build, testing, and go-live of healthcare systems such as:
    • Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR)
    • Laboratory systems
    • PACS (imaging systems)
    • Pharmacy systems
  • Maintain and support health IT infrastructure, including applications, databases, templates, and reporting tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EMR-related issues, including:
    • Triage and escalation
    • Root cause analysis
  • Develop and generate reports for leadership and end users
  • Document and analyze clinical workflows for medical and behavioral health providers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and data accuracy


Required Skills (in order of importance)
  • 7+ years of experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (preferably NextGen)
  • 7+ years of experience with Mirth (NextGen Connect) / Lab Systems


Preferred Skills (in order of importance)
  • Experience with HL7 messaging
  • Experience with FHIR standards
  • 7+ years of experience in EMR Integration
  • 7+ years of experience with Healthcare Interoperability & Data Exchange
  • 7+ years of experience in Healthcare IT Operations

Education Requirements

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
    • Computer Science
    • Information Systems / Information Science
    • Health Administration
    • Business Administration
    • Mathematics / Statistics
    • Biological Sciences or related field
  • Relevant experience in healthcare IT, project management, or health services

Preferred Certifications:
  • NextGen Connect (Mirth) Certification
  • EHR Certification
