About youWe are seeking a high-impact sales leader to be the Head of State & Local Government. This is a senior role for a proven public sector business leader with significant and progressive experience leading teams responsible for growing the state and local government (SLG) business. The ideal candidate brings executive leadership experience, strong relationships among the SLG client community, and a proven track record of successfully managing the P&L of a growing practice.
About this opportunity - Build, mentor and lead a team of Sales managers.
- Develop the sales strategy for the U.S. state and local government market and set individual sales targets across the SLG sales team.
- Track sales targets and document sales performance metrics.
- Ensure competitiveness by analyzing and researching industry trends.
- Engage in client meetings, understand business requirements, and coordinate with the internal pre-sales team to generate compelling, compliant, and competitive proposal responses.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers, procurement offices, and agency heads
What you bring - Experience performing business development in the State & Local Government market with a demonstrated track record of significant contract wins in- IT consulting, systems integration, and legacy modernization, among other relevant domains.
- Must have client and teaming partner relationships in such priority states as Florida, Texas, NY/NJ, California, Georgia, and the Carolinas
- Must have a demonstrated track record of closing multiple $10M+ deals.
- At least 14+ years of total experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading an SLG practice at a comparable scale.
- Knowledge of the State & Local Government sales cycles and industry best practices for proposal development and management.
- Experience in managing clients and sales quotas.
- Ability to explain and demonstrate IT services offerings.
- Exceptional ability in negotiating sales deals, contracts, and service agreements.
- Ability to travel for up to 50% of the time.
- Previous Account Executive/Sales experience at a Tier 1 consulting firm is a strong plus.
Educational Requirements: - A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
The estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows: $128,000 to $250,000.
