The position at a glance
This role supports BNP Paribas's mission by strengthening the risk management framework through robust model governance and independent review. The position aims to coordinate the North American model governance framework while ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements. The primary objective is to provide regional coordination and effective challenge to maintain the integrity of quantitative and AI models used across North America and the Group.
In detail • Lead the RISK IRC team in Canada by integrating activities into the global operating model to ensure coherent contribution to global priorities. • Supervise North American Model Governance by managing regional processes and reporting to address Canadian and US regulatory needs. • Coordinate with stream and technical review leads across multiple locations to allocate work and resolve escalations for consistent delivery. • Build collaborative relationships with model developers and senior management to provide effective challenge as a second line of defense. • Contribute to the development of model validation practices by promoting high standards and producing reports for management and regulators. • Manage the ongoing professional development of direct reports by providing continuous coaching and feedback to encourage growth. • Apply reasoned decision-making when addressing work challenges to provide practical solutions in complex environments. • Maintain accountability for following policies and procedures to ensure organized and accurate job performance.
