Head of PMO North America
Job Summary:
In coordination with local and global leadership, sets up a strategic planning process for the North American business. Develops a mechanism for review and adjustment of strategic initiatives developed for the business.
Job Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
- Collaborating with local and global business unit heads, develop a process for a strategic framework that will govern tactical medium- and long-term business development plans. The initial scope will be the US Wind and Industrial business areas and can expand into other geographies and functions as required.
- Coordinates an initial SWOT (Strength - Weakness - Opportunities - Threats) of the business.
- Conducts market research on macro-economic mega trends and distills a vision on how Flender's products and services bit market needs.
- Develops a growth vs resource required matrix that outlines a suitable path forward
- Outlines a gap analysis of future staffing, competencies, production footprint and product/service offerings required for growth.
- Proposes M&A and partnerships to fill future growth ambitions. Becomes a key member of internal pitch team.
- Leads a structured milestone review program in a Balanced Scorecard or other suitable framework.
- Demonstrates ability to become a member of the North American Executive Leadership Team.
Required Education and Experience:
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, corporate development, or strategic planning, including:
- Significant in-house experience in a mid-to-large industrial, energy, or manufacturing company, and/or
- Prior experience in a top-tier or reputable management consulting firm.
- Demonstrated experience leading a formal strategic planning process at a business unit, regional, or corporate level.
- Experience in industrial, energy, or renewables sectors; exposure to wind energy or closely related capital equipment / rotating machinery is a strong plus.
- Proven track record in:
- Conducting SWOT analyses and turning insights into actionable strategic initiatives.
- Performing market and competitive analysis, including assessment of macro-economic mega trends.
- Developing and evaluating growth strategies (organic and inorganic).
- Hands-on involvement with M&A and/or strategic partnerships (e.g., target screening, strategic rationale, business case development, due diligence support, or post-merger integration planning).
- Experience working within a global matrix organization, collaborating across geographies and diverse functional teams.
- Regular interaction with Executive Leadership; prior participation in executive committees or senior leadership teams is preferred.
