Full Job Description
As Vanta's Internal Communications Director, you'll help set the internal beat of the company making sure every team member understands the messages that matter, while also defining how we communicate with each other as we scale

The People team builds the systems, culture, and experience that let Vanta'ns do their best work as we grow quickly across the globe. Internal comms sits at the heart of that mission: making sure every Vanta'n understands our strategy, our story, and what's expected of them, no matter how fast we're moving.

Reporting to the Head of People, this is a build-from-scratch mandate. You'll define the strategy, the infrastructure, and the cadence for how Vanta communicates. You'll have room to bring your own voice and instincts into how we do it, from the words we choose for a key company moment to how an all-hands actually feels in the room. Then you'll roll up your sleeves to make it happen.

What you'll do as an Internal Communications Director at Vanta:
  • Shape how Vanta tells its own story internally and ensure that key messages land at exactly the right moment.
  • Build and manage internal comms infrastructure: the channels, cadences and best practices for how the company communicates (Slack norms, docs, wikis, etc.).
  • Own key internal company-wide moments end to end, including all-hands, major announcements, and org-wide notifications, from planning through delivery.
  • Partner closely with the People team as a strategic sounding board on sensitive or high-stakes communications
  • Serve as a strategic communications partner across the business, triaging and prioritizing company-wide communication requests and partnering with stakeholders to translate complex topics into clear, effective messaging.
  • Partner with Marketing and External Comms to keep our internal and external narrative aligned and consistent.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the C-team and Leadership Team on how and when to communicate major business updates.
  • Build and protect company culture and morale through comms, keeping the energy and momentum visible as Vanta grows.
  • Evolve Vanta's internal comms strategy and toolkit as the company scales, experimenting with new formats and channels.
  • Measure and iterate on what's working, bringing a data-informed lens to internal comms.

How to be successful in this role:
  • 8-10+ years of experience building and running an internal comms strategy, ideally at a high-growth company.
  • Proven track record on building an internal comms strategy and executing on that strategy
  • Strong writer and storyteller who can translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, human messaging.
  • Comfortable operating at both altitudes. Can set strategy but is equally willing to execute (write the email, run the all-hands, edit the deck).
  • Executive influence and partnership. Able to partner with and influence the C-team and Leadership Team.
  • Experience partnering with People/HR teams on sensitive organizational communications.
  • Excellent judgment and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance competing communication requests, advise stakeholders on what requires company-wide visibility.
  • A natural sense for culture and energy. Someone who brings personality and vibes, not just polished corporate messaging.
  • Creative and willing to take risks and try new things. Comfortable pitching bold or unconventional ideas, and knows how to calibrate when to push and when to dial it back.
  • Leverage AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

What you can expect as a Vanta'n:
  • Industry-competitive salary and equity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans
  • 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for all new parents
  • Health & wellness stipend
  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend
  • Commuter benefits for team members who report to the SF and NYC office
  • Family planning benefits
  • Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting
  • Flexible PTO policy, plus 80 hours of Sick Time
  • 11 company-paid holidays
  • Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and other company-wide events!
  • Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney
