As our Head of Finance, you'll lead a finance function stepping into its next chapter: commercialization. This is a player-coach role for a seasoned finance leader who is just as comfortable in the numbers as they are building and developing strategy. You'll bring strong FP&A chops, sharp attention to detail and the judgment to flex across accounting, revenue operations, payroll and benefits, audit, and risk management, as well as partner closely with our leadership on the financial strategy that enables us to get our innovative technology into the hands of clinicians and patients worldwide.
NOTE: WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING RESUMES FROM AGENCIES.The ideal candidate will have:- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience and 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally in a venture-backed healthcare, medical device, or SaaS company.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA) or CPA preferred.
- Demonstrated success operating as a player-coach: setting financial strategy and building a team while staying hands-on.
- Must-have expertise in FP&A, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial modeling, and scenario analysis with a track record of preparing and presenting financial materials for a Board of Directors, Audit Committee, or investors to support fundraising, financing decisions, and scenario modeling.
- Deep, hands-on experience across core accounting functions (month-end close, revenue recognition, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations) with strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing payroll (including multi-state compliance) and benefits administration, such as 401(k) plans and benefits reconciliation.
- Experience overseeing insurance and risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for diverse stakeholders and contribute to strategic, cross-functional discussions.
Work Location:- This is an on-site role based out of our office in Boston, MA.
Salary Range:- The anticipated base salary range for this position at Elucid is $180,000-$225,000. Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, relevant experience, certifications, and geography as outlined in the job description.
At Elucid, we believe the best work happens in a flexible hybrid environment. Boston-area employees are encouraged to work from the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the option to come in additional days if they prefer. Fully remote employees outside the Boston area come in as needed.
