About Our Roles & TitlesEveryone in our R&D organization, including the people who lead it, holds the title Member of Technical Staff (MoTS). Our job postings use standard titles so you can find us. If you join Tutor, you'll be a MoTS who runs engineering. Head of Engineering is how you'll be known outside the company, because building the team means being legible to the people you're recruiting. In an ideal world everyone here would simply be a MoTS; external titles exist only where the outside world needs them.
