The RoleBetstamp tracks odds from sportsbooks, exchanges, and prediction markets in real time. Our Go monorepo, Redis Streams and ClickHouse pipeline, API, and web app calculate and deliver line movement, edge, and expected value to bettors.
This role owns that engineering surface. You'll set technical direction, lead the team, and remain hands-on in the code. You'll also work directly with management to turn business and product priorities into scoped engineering work and report on progress and risks.
AI is central to how we expect the team to operate. You'll use AI tools heavily in your own work, establish effective practices across the team, and continually evaluate how new capabilities can improve our development process and products.
What You'll Own- Technical direction: Set architecture and decide what should be built, improved, or retired across the monorepo, pro.betstamp.com, and supporting services.
- Team leadership: Manage, mentor, and review engineers while helping hire and develop the team.
- Hands-on delivery: Ship code regularly and take on work requiring senior judgment, including complex migrations and production incidents.
- AI-enabled engineering: Set the standard for using coding agents and AI tools effectively. Improve team output without lowering the bar for correctness, security, or maintainability.
- Planning and reporting: Define scope and timelines, communicate tradeoffs, and keep management informed of progress and risks.
- Production reliability: Own uptime, alerting, incident response, and the operational practices behind our real-time data platform.
The role is approximately evenly split between leadership and individual contribution. You should want to lead a team while continuing to write and review code.
