Full Job Description
ABOUT THIS ROLE

Orchestra is seeking a Head of Agency Marketing to define and lead the vision for how Orchestra shows up in the world as the company enters its next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Brand Officer and working closely with the executive team, this individual will set brand and communications strategy from the ground up - determining not just how Orchestra executes but what it prioritizes, invests in, and builds toward across PR, partnerships, events, awards, thought leadership, and activations. This is a function-leadership role with full accountability for strategy, budget, and team, and the latitude to make the calls that shape where and how Orchestra shows up in the marketplace.

This individual will collaborate cross-functionally across Orchestra's agencies and leadership to ensure consistency in messaging across all channels, including earned media, and will oversee brand management, product marketing, content development, and cross-channel campaigns.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the Head of Agency Marketing on the Integrated Marketing team, you will:
  • Own and set Orchestra's external communications vision and strategy, across media, conferences, awards, and cultural platforms, translating that vision into a resourced, executable plan
  • Build and manage the budget for the brand and communications function, making investment tradeoffs across earned media, activations, and events
  • Elevate the profile of the CEO, President, Chief Culture Officer, and other top voices by securing speaking slots, press, and thought leadership opportunities
  • Own major moments (including Cannes Lions) end-to-end, from strategic concept through activation, budget, and execution
  • Build relationships across both top-tier outlets and the emerging writers and platforms shaping the next wave of media
  • Monitor emerging writers, outlets, and media tactics to ensure Orchestra's strategy stays ahead of where media is going
  • Set the editorial and narrative standard for how Orchestra's stories are written, pitched, and shaped, including drafting and distributing press releases and scheduling interviews as needed
  • Align external brand positioning with internal communications to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization
  • Establish clear KPIs and a data-informed feedback loop to continually refine strategy and prove impact
  • Build, lead, and mentor a cross-functional team, including internal communications, content, lifecycle, and paid media
  • Create pathways for new voices and emerging writers through collaborations and activations

What you bring:
  • A strategist's ability to set vision and a builder's ability to stand up the function, team, and processes to deliver on it
  • Executive-level PR / communications leadership experience with a bias toward action
  • A track record of getting brands into the right rooms, conversations, and publications
  • Experience concepting, budgeting, and executing events or activations that break through
  • Sharp instincts for storytelling and media, paired with the judgment to prioritize resources against them
  • Equal comfort setting strategic direction and executing hands-on when needed
  • Progressive leadership experience building, managing, and growing teams

Essential skills:
  • 15+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, communications, or brand storytelling, with agency or in-house leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience owning a function's strategy, budget, and team, not just executing against someone else's plan
  • Proven ability to develop and lead external communications strategies that drive meaningful visibility across both top-tier and emerging media outlets
  • Strong, existing relationships with journalists, editors, and/or creators, with a clear understanding of how to engage both established publications and the next generation of writers and platforms
  • Demonstrated success securing high-impact press, speaking engagements, and thought leadership opportunities for senior executives or brands
  • Experience concepting, budgeting, and executing brand activations, events, or cultural moments that extend beyond traditional media and create real audience engagement
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives, press materials, and executive communications
  • Strong editorial judgment and instinct for what makes a story timely, relevant, and culturally resonant
  • Ability to operate as both strategist and executor, setting direction while also rolling up sleeves to pitch, write, and deliver
  • Data-driven approach to managing marketing and communications initiatives, with clear command of budget and resource allocation
  • Extremely strong interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills
