Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for electrical, mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing testing.
  • Collaborate with Quality and external partners for full product validation.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of technical issues, project milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate hardware tasks and collaboration with development/manufacturing partners.
  • Plan and execute work sequences while identifying dependencies and risks.
  • Update and maintain project schedules and work plans.
  • Identify capability gaps and drive process improvements.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and conduct retrospectives.
  • Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) costs and collaborate with Supply Chain for cost improvements.
  • Communicate program progress clearly and regularly.

Full Job Description
As a Hardware Engineering EPM, you will be responsible for leading the development of Tive hardware (EE, ME, firmware, radio, mfg test) from concept through Mass Production. You will be the internal and external face of the project, the source of truth for timelines, and ultimately responsible for delivering on-time.

You will lead the internal team through the development cycle planning and coordinating all cross functional activities to bring the product to life, being a technical mentor/sounding board for the team as well as the single source of truth regarding project status, timelines, deliverables and risks.

You will be the main technical point of contact with external partners and plan/coordinate all activities/deliverables with them, including development partners, contract manufacturers, and consultants.

  • 10+ years experience in hardware product development for high volume products
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary technical development teams
  • Experience driving products into high-volume mass production with Asian contract manufacturers
  • Deep knowledge of hardware development best practices in two or more of the following areas: Electronics, mechanics, system engineering, or firmware
  • Willingness to travel within the US and Asia (sometimes with little notice) based on need in the product development cycle.
  • BSEE, ME or Physics


What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the team in the design of electrical, mechanical, firmware & mfg test
  • Partner with Quality and all external partners to ensure complete product validation
  • Have detailed knowledge of all technical issues, project milestones and deliverables
  • Coordinate and drive all work within hardware, and with our development/mfg partners
  • Ensure that all work is planned, owned, and being executed in the right sequence, identifying dependencies, bottlenecks and risks.
  • Own, maintain, and update schedules and work plans
  • Identify gaps in capability and drive systemic change to improve everything that we do
  • Manage ECOs and run retrospectives
  • Own BOM cost and partner with Supply Chain to drive/improve CoGM
  • Regular clear communications of program progress


Compensation:

$150,000 - $200,000 base salary
