About the TeamThe Low-Voltage Electronics team develops and sustains the ECUs and electronic hardware that enable core vehicle and ADAS functions. The organization owns requirements, circuit and mechanical design, prototypes, characterization, validation, supplier and contract-manufacturer execution, production support, and field issue resolution. It works across software, systems, packaging, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and vehicle programs. Deep in-house knowledge is essential because the designs and failure modes span multiple vehicle generations.
About the Role As a Hardware Engineer, Low-Voltage ECUs, you will own defined electronic-control-unit design and characterization work for vehicle and ADAS applications. Reporting to a Manager of Low-Voltage ECU Hardware, you will carry circuit and board decisions through prototype, validation, supplier, and production support. In your first 12 months, success means delivered design changes, complete characterization evidence, and timely closure of ECU issues. Role: - Circuit Ownership: Design and release assigned analog, digital, power, interface, or protection circuits within low-voltage ECUs.
- Design Evidence: Complete calculations, simulations, schematic reviews, component derating, tolerance analysis, and characterization.
- Prototype Validation: Define bench tests, bring up prototypes, analyze results, and close discrepancies against requirements.
- Design Robustness: Maintain DFMEA and DVP&R actions and address EMC, thermal, reliability, and manufacturability risks.
- Supplier and Factory Support: Resolve board, component, contract-manufacturer, and production issues with disciplined root-cause methods.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Coordinate interfaces with Systems, Software, Mechanical, ADAS, Validation, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of related professional hardware-engineering experience, or an advanced degree without professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with schematic design, board bring-up, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and structured circuit troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics, power supplies, communication interfaces, and component selection.
- Ability to document design intent, test evidence, risks, and engineering changes clearly.
Preferred:- Automotive ECU, ADAS controller, or other high-reliability embedded-hardware experience.
- Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, EMC design, environmental validation, or functional safety.
- Experience with Cadence or equivalent ECAD tools such as Altium & Mentor.
- Contract-manufacturer or high-volume electronics production support experience.
Work Requirement This role is fully onsite at our Newark, CA headquarters. Daily in-person presence is required.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$110,900-$152,460 USD

Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
