WHAT YOU'LL DO- Hardware Design & Leadership: Plan, lead, implement, and debug hardware design and qualification projects from concept through production.
- Full Lifecycle Participation: Participate in all phases of product development, including architecture design, technical documentation, eDVT, failure analysis (FA), and custom hardware support.
- Validation & Automation: Define, execute, and automate hardware validation and qualification frameworks to enhance test coverage, efficiency, consistency, and product robustness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Software, Operations, Manufacturing Test, and Support teams to seamlessly introduce new storage subsystems into production.
- Escalations & Root Cause Analysis: Serve as an escalation point for internal testbeds and complex customer hardware issues; perform deep-dive failure and root cause analysis.
- Technical Hardening & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members while pioneering new techniques to harden system designs.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the {{OFFICE_LOCATION}} office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
WHAT YOU BRING- Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in x86 architecture and storage-related hardware development, validation, and qualification. Enterprise data storage or server industry experience preferred.
- Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (M.S. preferred).
- x86 & Architecture: Deep expertise in x86 system architecture, CPU subsystems (DDR5, chipsets, BMC, ETH LOM, peripherals), and subcomponent selection (NVMe drives, AC/DC power supplies, discrete power circuits).
- Bus Technologies & Protocols: Solid understanding of high-speed and control buses, including PCIe, UPI, SAS/SATA, and serial protocols (I8C, I3C, SPI, SVID).
- High-Speed Networking & Signal Integrity: Experience with high-speed Ethernet technologies (1GbE to 400GbE). Hands-on capability reviewing high-speed signals using oscilloscopes and bus analyzers (trace capture and signal analysis).
- Power & Thermal: Expertise in analyzing device- and system-level power regulators, PWM selection/design, cooling dynamics, and electrical signal integrity (SI).
- Hardware Logic: Foundational knowledge of Verilog and CPLD design.
- Automation & Scripting: Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for hardware qualification test development and automation.
- Industry Tools: Experience configuring and running stress/qualification workloads using industry-standard tools (e.g., PTAT, Mprime, Iometer, Linpack, StressAppTest, SHC).
- Modern Tooling: Familiarity with leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) to accelerate design checks, test script development, and diagnostic dashboards.
- Diagnostics & Test Plans: Ability to collaborate with diagnostics engineers by setting direction and reviewing test plans for full coverage.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is:
$180,000-$270,000 USD
