Full Job Description
Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
Basic Qualifications
3BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree.
31 - 2+ years of hands-on experience performing guidance, navigation, or flight control engineering on aerospace or missile applications.
3Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and fundamental control theory (PI filters, Laplace transform, Fourier analysis, state-space modeling, etc.)
3Demonstrated understanding of Air Vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, and environmental disturbance modeling
3Demonstrated understanding of guidance law development or autopilot/flight controls algorithm development.
3Familiarity in SW development environments like Git using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada.
3Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include generation and presentation of verification plans, analysis reports, algorithm description documentation, other technical documents.
3US Citizenship and an ability to attain Secret Clearance is required.

3Master's degree in an engineering discipline with concentration in controls, flight dynamics, or guidance
3Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)
3Experience with flight-control hardware, actuator interfaces, and inertial sensors
3Experience using a Linux-based operating system
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

3For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
