Position Description: CGI is seeking a hands on Google Document AI (DocAI) Technical Lead to design, develop, and deliver enterprise Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong hands on development experience with Google Document AI configuration, model setup and tuning, Google Cloud Functions, and end to end document processing orchestration. The Technical Lead will also provide technical direction to developers, drive implementation, conduct code/design reviews, and resolve complex technical issues.
This role can be performed from any US CGI office.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Lead the design, configuration, development, and implementation of Google Document AI solutions
Configure DocAI processors, Custom Document Extractor, schemas/entities, classification, extraction, confidence thresholds, and model tuning
Design end to end document workflows covering ingestion, classification, extraction, validation/HITL, and downstream processing
Develop orchestration using Google Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, APIs, and related GCP services
Develop Python based APIs, microservices, pre/post processing logic, JSON transformations, and enterprise integrations
Implement error handling, retry/reprocessing, logging, monitoring, and production support
Translate business and architectural requirements into technical designs and development tasks
Lead and drive developers through technical direction, work assignments, code/design reviews, mentoring, and resolution of technical blockers
Remain hands on with development and troubleshooting through testing, deployment, and production stabilization
Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for security, scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: 7+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership
3+ years of AI/ML, Document AI, or IDP experience
Strong hands on experience implementing Google Document AI in production
Experience with DocAI configuration, Custom Document Extractor, classification, extraction, model training/tuning, and accuracy optimization
Strong development experience with Google Cloud Functions and event driven GCP architectures
Strong Python development skills and experience building REST APIs, microservices, and JSON integrations
Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, IAM, and Cloud Monitoring
Experience with CI/CD, Git, and modern DevOps practices
Proven ability to lead developers while remaining hands on technically
At least one end to end production IDP implementation
Desired qualifications
Experience with Vertex AI/Gemini, HITL solutions, Docker/Kubernetes, LLMs/RAG, and enterprise content/workflow platforms
Must Have: Direct, hands on production experience configuring Google Document AI and developing GCP/Cloud Functions orchestration
This is a development lead role-not a purely architectural AI position

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $127,500.00 $223,200.00.
