Full Job Description
As the Global Resource Planning Manager, you will lead and be accountable for IDEXX's global resource planning team of six - four Resource Planners and two Operations Analysts. You will coach and develop your team, own their performance and output, and drive the modernization of resource planning globally - challenging the status quo and leading automation and process improvement across scheduling, coverage, and reporting.

Why this role matters:

The Global Resource Planning Manager is accountable for the performance and output of the global resource planning team - ensuring the team is well led, coached, and developed, and that its work consistently meets business needs. This role also strengthens team cohesion and cross-regional collaboration, helping the team work as one unit. Beyond day-to-day delivery, this role is expected to modernize the function: challenging existing processes, identifying opportunities for automation, and continuously improving how resource planning operates across regions - while helping the team stay resilient and adaptable as IDEXX continues to modernize its customer support organization.

In this role:
  • You will lead, coach, and develop a global team of 4 Resource Planners and 2 Operations Analysts - Resource Planners owning short-term forecasting and scheduling, and Operations Analysts monitoring and securing day-to-day coverage - setting priorities, managing performance, and building team capability.
  • You will foster a cohesive, collaborative team culture across regions, encouraging knowledge-sharing and teamwork so the team operates as one unit.
  • You will help your team adapt to IDEXX's ongoing customer support modernization initiatives, guiding them through frequent process and system changes and building their resilience and comfort with continuous change.
  • You will challenge the status quo, identifying opportunities to modernize resource planning processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • You will drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual effort, increase efficiency, and improve accuracy across scheduling and coverage management.
  • You will own short-term forecasting within your team, and translate those forecasts into global scheduling strategy, including shift design, coverage planning, PTO and time-off planning, and schedule adherence standards.
  • You will ensure your Operations Analysts secure the day-to-day: proactively managing call-outs, absences, and other last-minute coverage gaps, and coordinating same-day adjustments so service levels are protected.
  • You will ensure the team delivers accurate, timely reporting and KPI visibility on staffing, scheduling, and coverage performance, giving leadership and stakeholders a clear view of results.
  • You will work as one team with long-term Forecasting and Capacity Planning - a peer function within the same Workforce Management organization - to keep short-term forecasts and schedules aligned with longer-term capacity plans.
  • You will serve as the escalation point for staffing gaps, urgent coverage issues, and cross-regional scheduling conflicts.
  • You will standardize resource planning processes, tools, and best practices across regions to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • You will partner with Operations, HR, and operational leaders on staffing strategy, headcount planning, and workforce policies.

What you need to succeed:
  • 5+ years' experience in workforce management, resource or scheduling planning, or operations, including direct people leadership experience
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a team
  • Track record of challenging existing ways of working and leading process improvement, automation, or modernization initiatives
  • Comfort operating in a constantly changing environment, with the resilience and flexibility to help a team adapt through ongoing transformation
  • Confidence exploring and adopting new technologies, including AI, and openness to bringing new tools into the team's ways of working
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, staffing coverage models, and day-of/real-time staffing management
  • Experience partnering with global or cross-regional teams and stakeholders across time zones
  • Analytical skills to interpret coverage, adherence, and reporting/KPI data and turn insights into action
  • Experience with workforce management or scheduling systems; knowledge of NICE or other WFM software preferred
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly to daily staffing changes and escalations

What you can expect from us:
  • Base annual salary target: $100K - $123K DOE
  • Opportunity for annual cash bonus
  • Health / Dental / Vision Benefits Day-One
  • 5% matching 401k
  • Additional benefits including but not limited to financial support, pet insurance, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, employee stock program, foundation donation matching, and much more!
  • A dynamic and exciting career that utilizes your leadership experience, technical skills, allows you to travel, meet new people, expand your knowledge and skill set, all while positively impacting the lives of pets and their owners
