About The RoleThe Global Resilience Operations Center (GROC) Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and operational effectiveness of CBRE's Global Resilience Operations Center. This role oversees the global monitoring, escalation and operational capabilities that support the protection of CBRE's people, assets, reputation, and business operations.
The Director serves as the functional leader of the GROC and is responsible for establishing and maintaining a best-in-class global operating model, ensuring 24/7 situational awareness, coordinating response to significant incidents, and delivering actionable intelligence to security, resilience, and business leaders.
Reporting to the SVP, Security, Resilience & Corporate Real Estate (CRE), the Director leads GROC personnel and vendors while partnering closely with Security & Resilience, Digital & Technology, Corporate Communications, People, Global Governance, and business leadership teams to strengthen enterprise resilience and operational readiness globally.
What You'll DoGROC Leadership & Operations- Lead the overall strategy, management, and continuous improvement of the Global Resilience Operations Center.
- Establish operating procedures, governance frameworks, escalation protocols, and performance standards for global GROC operations.
- Ensure effective 24/7 monitoring, incident response, intelligence collection, and situational awareness capabilities.
- Provide oversight of GROC personnel, contractors, and vendors across multiple geographic locations.
- Maintain operational readiness and staffing models that support continuous global coverage.
- Drive operational excellence through quality assurance, process improvement, and performance management programs.
Incident & Crisis Management- Support regional Incident Managers to respond to significant incidents impacting CBRE personnel, facilities, operations, clients, or reputation.
- Support accurate and timely communication to executive leadership during incidents.
- Support after-action reviews, lessons learned, corrective action plans, and program improvements following significant events.
- Support enterprise crisis exercises and preparedness initiatives.
Security & Resilience Program Support & Integration- Work with Security & Resilience leaders to absorb operational and administrative processes into the GROC.
- Maintain awareness of global events and trends that may influence organizational resilience, business continuity, employee safety, or client operations.
- Support a global risk monitoring and reporting capability focused on geopolitical, security, environmental, operational, and emerging risks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Support- Serve as the primary liaison between the GROC and executive stakeholders during significant incidents and crises.
- Provide senior leaders with timely operational updates, threat assessments, recommendations, and decision-support information.
- Develop strong partnerships across Security, Resilience, CRE, People, Global Governance, Corporate Communications, Digital & Technology, and business leadership teams.
- Support strategic planning and resilience initiatives across the enterprise.
- Represent the GROC function in enterprise risk, governance and crisis management forums.
Program Governance & Performance- Develop and maintain GROC performance metrics, dashboards, and service-level standards.
- Measure operational effectiveness through key performance indicators related to monitoring, incident response, intelligence production, and resilience readiness.
- Report program performance, trends, and emerging risks to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Establish governance processes supporting consistent incident management and escalation practices globally.
Technology & Capability Development- Support the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of technologies supporting intelligence, monitoring, crisis management, and situational awareness.
- Partner with Digital & Technology to ensure reliability and effectiveness of GROC systems and platforms.
- Drive automation and process enhancements to improve operational efficiency and response effectiveness.
- Oversee relationships with technology providers and intelligence platform vendors.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance resilience monitoring and response capabilities.
People Leadership- Lead, mentor, and develop GROC leadership and operational teams.
- Directly manage the GROC Supervisor and other assigned personnel.
- Establish talent development, succession planning, and workforce capability programs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure personnel are appropriately trained and prepared to support global operations and crisis response requirements.
What You'll Need- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Emergency Management, Risk Management, International Relations, Business Administration, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in security operations, intelligence, crisis management, resilience, emergency management, military, government, corporate security, or a related environment.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing operational teams within a global organization.
- Proven experience leading complex incident response and crisis management efforts.
- Experience working within a multinational or global corporate environment.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and make critical decisions during high-pressure situations.
- Experience utilizing intelligence, monitoring, incident management, and emergency communication platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and data reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related discipline.
- Experience leading a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), Global Resilience Operations Center (GROC), Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Security Operations Center (SOC), or similar command center environment.
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide business continuity, resilience, or crisis management programs.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Dataminr, AlertMedia, Everbridge, Crisis24, ServiceNow, Power BI, or similar technologies.
- Experience managing global vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Multilingual capabilities.
