Job Summary

The Global Private Finance team (> $60BN of AUM) is seeking a highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate to assist in the underwriting, execution, and management of private credit financing solutions to private equity sponsored transactions across a variety of industries. This individual will work closely with senior investment professionals throughout the investment lifecycle, including opportunity evaluation, due diligence, structuring, investment committee approval, transaction execution, and ongoing portfolio management. The position can be located in either our Charlotte or New York office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit underwriting and due diligence on prospective investments, including meetings with management teams and leading private equity sponsors as well as account management activities
  • Perform detailed financial analysis on potential borrowers including review of historical financial performance, customer & product trend analysis, etc.
  • Develop comprehensive operating and LBO models to evaluate investment opportunities under multiple operating and capital structure scenarios
  • Assist in preparation of investment memos containing written description of borrower business operations, industry dynamics, financial performance, etc.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendations to senior investment professionals and investment committees
  • Monitor a portfolio of existing investments, including quarterly financial reviews, covenant compliance analysis, amendment requests, liquidity assessments, risk rating recommendations, and investment valuations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting
  • 2-6 years of work experience preferably in private credit, investment banking, transaction advisory, or commercial banking. Successful completion of a formal commercial credit training program a plus.
  • Strong analytical skill set
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Develops strong and effective relationships with all areas across the organization
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Product Suite

Base Salary Range: $120,000-160,000 and additional incentive compensation.
