About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to own and elevate global payroll operations across the US, India, and UK. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery for a multi-entity, multi-country organization, while partnering closely with an offshore team and cross-functional stakeholders in PeopleOps, Benefits, and Accounting. The ideal candidate combines deep payroll operations expertise with a strong systems and process mindset, and is comfortable managing complexity across payroll platforms, integrations, and international compliance requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for US, India, and UK employee populations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local statutory requirements
  • Manage and develop an offshore payroll team, providing coaching, quality oversight, and clear performance expectations
  • Serve as the primary payroll systems owner, managing integrations between payroll platforms and inbound/outbound systems (HRIS, time & attendance, benefits, GL/accounting)
  • Lead or support payroll system implementations, migrations, and upgrades, including Workday Payroll rollouts
  • Partner closely with PeopleOps and Benefits teams to ensure seamless employee lifecycle events (new hires, terminations, leaves, benefits changes) are reflected accurately in payroll
  • Own payroll accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close-cycle support in partnership with Corporate Accounting
  • Support audit requests including financial statement audits, statutory audits, and 401(k) audits, preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure sensitive employee and compensation data is handled with the highest standard of integrity and confidentiality
  • Stay current on US payroll tax regulations (federal, state, and local) and ensure timely, accurate tax filings and remittances
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes, driving continuous improvement across systems and workflows
  • Act as an escalation point for complex payroll issues, working cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies
What We're Looking For
  • Experience managing payroll operations across multiple countries, with direct experience in US, India, and UK payroll required
  • Experience working with and managing an offshore team
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and ADP Celergo required
  • Experience with Workday Payroll is a plus
  • Experience managing system integrations (inbound and outbound) between payroll and other HR/finance systems
  • Prior experience with payroll system implementations, ideally including Workday
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles (journal entries, reconciliations, close processes)
  • Solid working knowledge of US payroll tax requirements and compliance
  • Experience supporting financial statement audits, statutory audits, and 401(k) audits
  • Proven people management experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships, particularly with PeopleOps and Benefits
  • A systems- and process-oriented mindset, with a focus on scalability, accuracy, and efficiency
  • High degree of integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive employee data
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all payroll processing and reporting
