Full Job Description
Funds Transfer (FT) focuses on processing client and firms asset servicing money movement and ensuring timely settlement. Operating in a 24-hour environment, Funds Transfer handles instructions from clients around the world and across all markets BBH offers. Core functions include Payment Processing, Product Processing, Check, ACH and SWIFT management, Nostro Bank and Client Inquiry Response.

The Global Head of Funds Transfer is a senior leader with end-to-end accountability for the Funds Transfer division and its sub-units within the Operations Line of Business (LOB), operating across multiple disciplines, processes, and/or locations in a 24-hour global environment. Leading through department and section managers, the role establishes division priorities, strategy and drives disciplined execution in support of BBH and LOB objectives, ensuring timely, accurate client money movement and settlement across all supported markets. Global head oversees all operating practices, controls, and performance management routines; advances continuous improvement and technology enablement; and represents the division in industry and market change initiatives (e.g., SWIFT).

The role is accountable for identifying, managing, and remediating complex high-risk/high-exposure issues with appropriate escalation and sustainable outcomes, and for partnering with peers and horizontal stakeholders (such as Treasury, Compliance, Systems, Transfer Agency, Alternatives, Custody Product etc.) across various lines of Business dependencies. In partnership with department heads, the Global Head of Funds Transfer develops and manages the division budget and business plan and maintains strong client relationships, serving as a credible thought leader who influences outcomes with clients, risk, legal, industry partners, and vendors through deep expertise and effective risk stewardship.

Key responsibilities include:

Productivity/ Operations Management
  • Overseas full scope of cross functional reconciliation products with both internal and external counterparties; risk oversight.
  • Ensure the smooth, effective operation of the department including proper product delivery, proper escalation and resolution of high exposure items, maintaining the proper balance of cost, control and client service (3Cs), and maintaining proper standards and controls.
  • Operates in a highly global environment, supporting markets internationally. Work presence is distributed across multiple geographies, and third party outsource providers.

Control/Business Planning
  • In conjunction with Global Head role, develop, maintain and achieve an integrated Business Plan for the department; focuses on policy implementation and strategy development for assigned areas.
  • Business plan aligns organizational structure, systems priorities, management reporting, job descriptions, and budget establishment in support of business goals and overall strategy.

People Management
  • Develop staff members through appropriate recruiting, training, performance management and succession planning.
  • Develop a qualified successor(s) and partner with Human Resources on recruiting, hiring and orientation.
  • Ensure that the management team is properly aligned with the division strategy, goals, and objectives and has the information and tools necessary to progress.

Process Improvement
  • Provides analysis of complex issues and creates new processes, systems or products/services for multiple functions or disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of results-oriented, continuous, process improvement including developing and achieving leap goals, challenging all processes, procedures and practices, focusing on solutions (not "good reasons"), and keeping abreast of new technologies and applications and their implications for the department.

Client Service/Management
  • Develops strong partner relations with other SD divisions, Risk, Client Service teams, Systems, Controllers, Treasury and Infomediary (Inv Ops).
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, walkthroughs and other sales and client retention activities.
  • Build and foster effective and productive relationships with peers across business lines.
  • Find opportunities to expand BBH relationships and enhance client experience.
  • Responsible for providing excellent client service and solutions which improve client STP.

Product Development
  • Ensure standard suite of products is competitive, strategic, well defined and critical to our clients.
  • Identifies trends and assesses capabilities of BBH to meet market requirements.

Salary Range

Jersey City: $160,000 - $220,000 salary + annual performance bonus

The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations.
