Full Job Description
As a Global Front-End (FE) Materials Category Supplier Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and executing Micron's global sourcing strategy for critical semiconductor materials. You will serve as a primary global procurement interface for assigned material categories and suppliers, partnering across Micron's global manufacturing, technology and procurement organizations to drive cost competitiveness, supply resilience, supplier performance and long-term sourcing success.

The FE Materials Global Procurement owns strategic category and supplier management, including sourcing, RFQ activities, market analysis, business award recommendations, supplier performance and cross-functional execution of category strategies.

You will develop a deep understanding of your assigned materials markets, including supplier capabilities, manufacturing technologies, market dynamics, cost drivers and supplier roadmaps. You will translate these insights into sourcing and negotiation strategies that create sustainable value for Micron.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Strategic Sourcing
  • Develop and execute global category sourcing strategies in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead sourcing activities, including RFI/RFQ processes, supplier selection, allocation recommendations, and business awards.
  • Develop material pricing roadmaps and identify opportunities to improve cost competitiveness.
  • Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), payment terms, and other key commercial requirements.
  • Apply cost analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies to identify cost opportunities, understand key cost drivers, and strengthen negotiation strategies.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging supply-base opportunities to support sourcing decisions.

Cost Competitiveness & Commercial Excellence
  • Identify and implement category-specific savings levers and deliver category cost objectives.
  • Conduct cost analysis and identify cost-improvement opportunities in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier benchmarking and market analysis to strengthen sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Lead negotiations for significant-spend and multi-year commercial agreements.
  • Drive opportunities for supply-base optimization, commercial improvement, and procurement efficiency.

Supply Resilience & Risk Management
  • Identify global supply risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Develop strategies addressing risks such as geographic concentration, raw-material exposure and global capacity constraints.
  • Partner with suppliers to strengthen business continuity and supply resilience.
  • Lead global supplier escalation and mitigation when significant supply constraints occur.
  • Support material readiness requirements associated with technology and manufacturing roadmaps.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead and participate in Material Strategy Teams (MST) to develop and execute category-specific strategies.
  • Collaborate globally with FE Materials Operations, Technology Development/Material Procurement, engineering, quality, manufacturing and other procurement partners.
  • Communicate category strategies, sourcing recommendations, supplier risks and key decisions effectively across multiple organizational levels.
  • Provide fact-based recommendations and market intelligence to senior leadership on strategic category and supplier decisions.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for the assigned material category and build strong internal and external industry networks.

Sustainability & Responsible Supply Chain
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to support Micron's sustainability and responsible-sourcing objectives.
  • Drive supplier alignment with applicable compliance and responsible-sourcing expectations.
  • Support supplier Scope 3 emissions management and category-related regulatory/compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Engineering, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert market, supplier and cost information into sourcing strategies.
  • Demonstrated capability in strategic sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiation or supply-chain management.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions, organizations and geographies and influence decisions in a complex global environment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
