This role leads testing and quality assurance for a cloud-based geospatial data lake, including ingestion pipelines, data services and APIs, search interfaces, and GIS client integrations. Working closely with government customers and cloud development teams, the position supports defect resolution, user acceptance testing, geospatial data validation, and documentation to ensure system usability and effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test strategies, plans, cases, and traceability matrices aligned with requirements and user stories across data ingestion, transformation, storage, APIs, and GIS client integrations.
Identify, reproduce, document, and triage defects; collaborate with developers and government stakeholders to track issues through resolution, verify fixes, and report defect trends and release readiness.
Plan, coordinate, and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with government customers, serving as an advocate for end users.
Validate geospatial data quality, including geometry validity, coordinate reference systems, projections, attribute completeness, and spatial query accuracy.
Test REST APIs and data services for correctness, error handling, security controls, and performance.
Develop and maintain data dictionaries, user guides, release notes, and test reports.
Design and deliver end-user training and support documentation for accreditation, audits, and release approvals.

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, GIS, Geography, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Typically three (3) or more years of software testing or quality assurance experience, including data-intensive or geospatial systems.
Desired Skills:
Test automation experience using Python/pytest, Selenium, Playwright, or similar tools.
Experience with PostGIS and spatial SQL.
