The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Urology, is searching for full-time Clinical Associates for renewable terms of up to three years. Appointees will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities to support and complement the faculty in Urology at the Hyde Park location and affiliated sites depending on the department's needs. Clinical duties include direct patient care through office visits, ambulatory procedures, state-of-the-art surgery, and call. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. These positions are benefits-eligible. The Section of Urology excels in robotic and laparoscopic treatments for both cancerous and non-cancerous urologic conditions, with national expertise in bladder cancer, prostate issues, reconstructive surgery, kidney stones, and pediatric urology. The program includes practice activities on the main campus in Hyde Park as well as at Orland Park and the South Loop; outpatient facilities are located in River East; the Ingalls Health System, which has integrated into our network; a multispecialty care facility in Northwest Indiana; and affiliated clinics at Advent Health. Appointees may be assigned to one or more of these locations.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate (MD) or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and Indiana, and 3) be Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Urology or equivalent.
