General Manager Sustainable Infrastructure - West

In this role, you will lead the West Sustainable Infrastructure business with a focus on growth, performance, and customer value.

This position can be located in CO, CA, OR or WA.

Role Overview

The General Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure-West is responsible for overall regional business performance, including P&L ownership, profitable growth, market share expansion, and team leadership. You will shape the area strategy, strengthen customer and partner relationships, and ensure the business executes consistently across selling, developing, and delivering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the regional P&L for the Sustainable Infrastructure business and drive profitable growth across the portfolio.
  • Identify and qualify adjacent market opportunities that support regional growth initiatives.
  • Coach and develop market teams and sales leadership, adjusting resources as business needs evolve.
  • Set the management cadence for selling, developing, and constructing projects.
  • Execute the operating model, tools, and governance standards consistently across the area.
  • Develop business plans, budgets, and area forecasts, and manage the business against plan.
  • Monitor financial and non-financial performance indicators, including contribution margin, pipeline, project margin, utilization, TCAC, profitability, slippage, and cost.
  • Lead regular business reviews, identify root causes of performance gaps, and drive corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategically important customers.
  • Drive new business with acceptable, profitable margin and increase market penetration of JCI solutions, including lighting, partnerships, Solar, and branch offerings.
  • Manage staffing levels, hiring, retention, performance management, and career development for market teams.
  • Develop strategically important third-party relationships and collaborate closely with branch organizations to enable growth across local BSNA business units.
  • Represent the business in industry associations and community groups and stay connected to local legislative, economic, and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements and maintain the highest standards of business ethics.


How You Will Do It
  • Own the regional results with accountability, safety, and integrity by setting clear priorities, following through consistently, and leading with discipline.
  • Stay close to the customer and the work by understanding market dynamics, customer needs, competitive pressures, and delivery realities that affect performance.
  • Use data to improve every day by reviewing forecasts, margin, cash flow, pipeline health, and project performance, then making practical adjustments quickly.
  • Lead through candor and problem-solving in business reviews, using root-cause analysis to remove barriers and strengthen execution.
  • Win as one team by collaborating across sales, engineering, operations, and branch partners, while valuing trust and diverse perspectives.

Hiring Salary Range:

$176,000 - $267,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
