Position Description
The General Manager leads the profitable growth of the Service, Installation and Equipment businesses in their operating companies, ensuring high levels of safety, customer satisfaction, job profitability and quality work.
To succeed in this position, candidates should have strong technical skills with exceptional communication, problem-solving and time management skills. You should be resourceful, analytical, adaptable, and organized with the ability to build rapport with customers and employees.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervises and directs the work of the Leaders within Service, Installation and Equipment. Builds the selling organization to effectively grow share and deepen customer relationships.
- Responsible for a safe work environment for all employees and supports safety efforts for injury prevention, along with strong immediate communication when injuries occur.
- Manages the business P and L and overall financial health of the business. Responsible for an annual 10% growth in top line sales and 10% increase in EBITDA.
- Prepares and executes the annual operating plan and develops budgets in coordination with department heads and controllers.
- Represents and upholds company values and operates with the highest level of integrity, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Meets with direct reports weekly. Oversees talent acquisition, development and retention.
- Maintains close business relationship with top customers, general contractors. Actively assesses customer satisfaction levels and initiates remedial actions as required.
- Improves processes for better productivity.
- Oversees large projects and interprets performance reports.
- Creates and conducts quarterly business reviews on Smart Care performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management (or similar degree program, with technical and financial components) or commensurate experience
- 8-10 years of managerial/supervisory experience in a service-related industry
- 2 or more years of previous P&L ownership and responsibility
- 3 or more years of customer relationship development and management experience
- Previous P&L accountability (minimum $10 Million responsibility)
- Track record of success leading a technical workforce
- Thorough understanding of initial call to cash process (i.e. sales, customer care, dispatch, service, supply chain, billing, etc.)
- Prior experience in developing and working in service app and dispatch systems
- Previous experience in HVAC, Grocery, Foodservice or equipment repair industry
- Willingness to travel within the market spending significant time with current and potential customers and assisting the location managers with sound business processes
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (5-year history)

- Previous experience managing a multi-branch technician workforce
