The General Manager serves as the visionary leader and ultimate steward of Mayflower Inn & Spa, responsible for delivering extraordinary guest experiences while cultivating an engaged, high-performing team and achieving exceptional financial results. As the leader of one of Auberge Collection's most iconic New England destinations, the General Manager brings together luxury hospitality, wellness, culinary excellence, and authentic local experiences to create unforgettable memories for every guest.

This executive leads all aspects of resort operations, inspiring a culture rooted in Auberge's values of heartfelt hospitality, individuality, craftsmanship, and connection. The General Manager partners closely with corporate leadership to execute strategic initiatives while preserving the unique character and legacy of Mayflower Inn & Spa.

The role also involves serving as the face of the property within the local community, fostering stakeholder relationships, and championing Mayflower Inn & Spa as a cultural and social anchor. The ideal candidate will embody the Auberge Collection ethos, with a polished presence, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to lead with integrity and charm.

Strategic Leadership
  • Champion the vision, culture, and brand standards of Auberge Collection.
  • Develop and execute annual strategic and business plans that drive sustainable growth and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Position Mayflower Inn & Spa as the premier luxury countryside retreat in the Northeast through innovative programming, elevated service, and market leadership.
  • Foster collaboration across all departments to ensure operational excellence and seamless guest experiences.
  • Build strong relationships with ownership, corporate leadership, community partners, and key stakeholders.

Guest Experience
  • Create a culture where personalized, intuitive service exceeds guest expectations.
  • Ensure every touchpoint reflects the warmth, authenticity, and sophistication of the Auberge brand.
  • Maintain industry-leading guest satisfaction, loyalty, and reputation metrics.
  • Personally engage with guests, VIPs, and repeat visitors to cultivate meaningful relationships and lasting loyalty.

Operational Excellence
  • Provide executive oversight for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa & Wellness, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Talent & Culture and Revenue Management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all operational disciplines.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, cleanliness, and luxury presentation throughout the property.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, brand standards, and regulatory requirements.

Financial Leadership
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and long-term financial strategy.
  • Deliver revenue growth while optimizing profitability and controlling expenses.
  • Analyze key business metrics and implement initiatives that improve performance across all revenue streams.
  • Maximize opportunities in lodging, wellness, culinary experiences, retail, and group business.

Talent & Culture
  • Build, mentor, and inspire an exceptional leadership team.

Sales, Marketing & Community Engagement
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to strengthen market positioning and drive revenue.
  • Represent Mayflower Inn & Spa within the luxury travel community and local region.
  • Develop strategic relationships with travel advisors, corporate partners, and community organizations.
  • Support innovative programming that celebrates the property's connection to wellness, culinary excellence, and New England heritage.

Asset Stewardship
  • Protect and enhance the long-term value of the property.
  • Partner with ownership and corporate teams on renovation projects, capital investments, and preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Ensure facilities consistently reflect Auberge's luxury standards.


Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive luxury hospitality leadership experience, including significant executive leadership as a General Manager within a luxury environment
  • Demonstrated success managing luxury food and beverage, spa, wellness, and experiential programming.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing multimillion-dollar operating budgets and capital investments.
  • Proven ability to inspire teams and build a culture of service excellence.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with ownership groups and luxury brand organizations preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on luxury resort environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
