Full Job Description
Responsibilities
• Inspect the patients' teeth thoroughly using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments to identify any areas of dental diseases and determine the overall state of dental health
• Identify oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems including cleanings, restoration, root canals, and surgical extractions
• Manage dental hygienists, associate dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff, and communicate with support staff regarding patient care plans
• Coordinate and perform preventive dental care treatments such as sealants, x-rays, flossing, fillings, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated
• Issue referral for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate
• Perform work that is in compliance with infection and infectious diseases control standards; office policies and procedures; and safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines
• Show patients how to use recommended devices for orthodontics and dental appliances, such as retainers and dentures and educate on the importance of good oral hygiene
Qualifications
• State license that is current, unrestricted, and in good standing
• 2+ years in clinical or private practice dentistry experience is required
• Relevant knowledge of dental standards and guidelines, public health standards, and dental medicine trends and advances is an asset
• Computer proficiency is desired
• Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in Dentistry
