Virtusa is seeking a Google Cloud Data Architect to lead data platform solution architecture and presales engagements for enterprise customers adopting Google Cloud technologies.
This role will work closely with sales teams, client stakeholders, and engineering teams to design and present modern data platforms, analytics, and AI-driven solutions on Google Cloud. The architect will play a key role in customer workshops, solution design, proposals, and technical presentations, helping Virtusa win strategic engagements and drive enterprise data transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data engineering, cloud-native architectures, and data platform modernization, along with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, cost-effective, and innovative data solutions.
Key Responsibilities Presales & Client Engagement
- Partner with sales teams and client stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into Google Cloud data platform solutions.
- Lead customer workshops, discovery sessions, and solution envisioning discussions.
- Develop end-to-end solution architectures aligned with business outcomes.
- Support RFP/RFI responses, proposal development, and solution documentation.
- Lead solution presentations and technical orals with customer stakeholders.
- Contribute to deal shaping, solution estimation, and deal closure.
Solution Architecture
- Architect modern data platforms and analytics solutions on Google Cloud.
- Design scalable architectures using Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Composer, BigLake, Cloud Storage, and Looker.
- Build solutions for enterprise data lakes, lakehouse platforms, real-time and batch pipelines, advanced analytics platforms, and enterprise BI solutions.
- Implement data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
Data Platform Migration & Modernization
- Lead migration and modernization of legacy data platforms to Google Cloud.
- Architect solutions for data warehouse modernization, Hadoop ecosystem migration, and ETL modernization.
- Develop migration frameworks and accelerators that improve time-to-market and cost efficiency.
AI/ML & Advanced Data Capabilities
- Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities within modern data platforms.
- Architect solutions leveraging Vertex AI, Gemini models, Generative AI capabilities, LLM-based analytics, Agentic AI frameworks, and RAG architectures to enhance data-driven applications.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven experience delivering Google Cloud data platform implementations including data foundations, modern data platforms, and analytics solutions
- Strong experience supporting presales engagements, solution proposals, customer workshops, and executive presentations.
