Job Title: FVP & Loan Officer IV

Department: CLC III

We are looking for a FVP & Loan Officer IV to join our CLC III team at Open Bank! The Loan Officer IV ("LO") is responsible for the underwriting, documentation, processing, and maintenance of lending products and loan files, as well as overseeing the department in underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the underwriting and evaluation of complex commercial loan transactions in compliance with the Bank's credit policies, procedures, and prudent lending standards.
  • Oversee borrower relationships, including structuring loan transactions, advising on credit solutions, and managing key client interactions.
  • Conduct high-level credit analysis and review financial spreads, providing strategic recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
  • Oversee and validate loan structuring, underwriting assumptions, and risk assessments to ensure consistency and sound credit judgment, while promoting high standards of customer care and client relationship management.
  • Review and recommend loan packages, credit memoranda, and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to lending staff, including mentoring loan officers and ensuring adherence to underwriting standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of the loan portfolio, including credit quality, risk ratings, and delinquency trends, and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify, escalate, and manage problem loans, and coordinate appropriate action plans to minimize potential losses.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Bank Secrecy Act / AML requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in lending required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail and on-line banking programs.
