Who You Are:We're hiring a Full Stack Engineer to join our early engineering team and build the AI behind Pursuit's contact and entity intelligence: who's buying, who's deciding, and what they need, pulled from millions of public documents. You'll work directly with our CEO and CTO, get close to customers, and own problems end to end. You've shipped production software for 3+ years, and you know that asking the right question matters more than rushing to the right answer.
What You'll Do:Understand the Problem First- Work closely with our team and customers to understand exactly what problem we're solving. Asking the right question matters more than getting the right answer.
- Work directly with our CEO and CTO, and build direct relationships with the customers who use what you build.
Own the Outcome- Own outcomes, not tasks. You'll pick the bet with us, ship it, and measure whether it moved anything for customers. "Done" means it's in use and we know whether it worked.
- Do what you say. Set your own time budgets, hit them, and raise a hand early when something's slipping, with a recommendation on what to cut.
- As part of the founding team, you'll shape the product as much as the engineering.
Build the Product- Build web applications and backend services that handle complex data models and database interactions
- Build and maintain integrations with CRM and ERP systems so data flows cleanly between Pursuit and the tools our customers already use
- Design system architecture that's as simple as possible and still scales
Make AI Work at Scale- Use off-the-shelf models to extract, parse, and reliably output data from millions of sources: PDFs, web pages, and more
- Build the evaluation and testing systems that show us how each model version performs against the last
Our Tech Stack:- LLMs, Vercel AI, LlamaIndex, Langsmith, Mastra
- NestJS,Typescript, Express
- MongoDB, Postgres, Turbopuffer
- GraphQL / Apollo Server
- AWS
- Python (nice to have experience)
What You'll Bring:- You've owned a product area end to end, not just shipped features in it.
- You do your best work without a spec: you talk to the customer, write the brief, and make the call.
- System architecture expertise: you design systems that solve the customer's problem and are as simple as possible. You're comfortable with cloud and AI services, event-based architectures, and complex database models
- Comfort with ambiguity: you do your best work without detailed instructions, and you'd rather talk to a customer than wait for a spec
Nice To Haves:- Experience with our stack.
- LLM experience: you've used off-the-shelf models in production to extract and parse data from PDFs, web pages, and other unstructured sources
- Experience building model evaluation or testing systems that compare one model version against the last
- Early-stage startup experience where you owned big pieces of the product
