Full-Stack Engineer - Agentic AI Platform - AWS Professional ServicesLocation: Chantilly, VA (preferred)
Work Type: Onsite / Hybrid
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
Clearance:Active TS/SCI (CI Poly preferred but not required)Certification: Active Security+ or equivalent requiredThe OpportunityThis is much more than traditional web development. You'll own the end-to-end user experience for live AI agent execution, from the React/Next.js interface through the APIs and streaming event pipelines that support it.
You'll work on challenges such as real-time agent activity, durable chat state, notifications, tool-call visualization, artifacts, lineage, and trace exploration. The environment is highly distributed and stateful, so solving problems around latency, event ordering, reconnection, partial state, and optimistic updates is a major part of the role.
The AI scientists own the underlying models and evaluations. Your job is to build the production engineering layer that makes those AI capabilities usable, observable, reliable, and secure.
If you enjoy full-stack engineering, real-time systems, and working directly with emerging AI technologies in a mission environment, this is a strong fit.
What You'll Be Doing - Design and build production applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Own the full vertical stack from React components through APIs and backend services
- Build real-time interfaces using Server-Sent Events (SSE), WebSockets, and streaming architectures
- Develop user experiences for live agent execution and AI-driven workflows
- Build and maintain durable chat state and notification architectures
- Develop interfaces for tool calls, artifacts, lineage, and agent execution traces
- Handle complex application behaviors including event ordering, reconnection, partial state, and optimistic updates
- Build and operate backend services and APIs using technologies such as FastAPI and Node
- Diagnose issues across the full application stack using logs, traces, and telemetry
- Build automated unit and end-to-end testing into the development process
- Work with distributed tracing technologies such as OpenTelemetry
- Use AI coding assistants as part of the daily development workflow while validating generated code through testing and engineering review
- Collaborate with AWS engineers, AI specialists, and customer stakeholders in a secure mission environment
