Full Job Description
Lactalis US Yogurt, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a FSQ Performance Management and Lab Engineer based in Londonderry, NH . The Performance Management and Lab Engineer, will be responsible for providing the documentation and support of product quality and food safety compliance, to include existing product quality, new product quality design and food safety, consumer complaints, finished product specification, and quality and food safety risk assessments. The position will also play a key role in assuring documentation compliance for import and export as needed. Additionally, the Performance Management and Lab Engineer will collaborate with plant quality, other members of the corporate quality team, R&D, consumer relations, and external supply partners to align duties with the company's goals and values. The Performance Management and Lab Engineer will report to Corporate Industrial Quality Manager. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: Laboratory Excellence • Works closely with the Lactalis USA (LUSA) LAB Relays to implement Lactalis requirements. • Ensure laboratory practices are properly documented and employees are trained. • Harmonize lab practices across all Lactalis US Yogurt (LUSY) sites, share/train on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Wis, and forms. • Provides support to create and maintain lab equipment calibration. • Conduct lab audits, produce lab audit reports and distribute internally in a timely manner. Develop action plans to improve. • Assess control plan and pathogen plan compliance and develop action plans with site to improve. • Complete other monthly, quarterly, and annual reports about LUSY labs as needed Industrial Quality & Performance • Supports facilities in investigating product complaints including root cause analysis and corrective actions to meet CPM objectives. • Works with sites to plan and discuss regular performance reviews to review quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), address compliance concerns, discuss new projects and ensure that sites are effectively adhering to Lactalis standards, processes and specifications • Ensures key KPIs are tracked, reviewed and corrective action plans are established when KPIs are not met. • Ensure Quality is fundamental in execution of all work activities and work in compliance. • Maintain a close partnership with LUSY internal plants and collaborate on continuous improvement activities. • Alert senior management on major issues. • Proactively share and promote best practices throughout the organization. • Collaborate and partner with quality peers and plant management to achieve overall company objectives. Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Education • Bachelor's degree is required. • A major in chemistry, food science and/or microbiology is preferred. Experience • 5+ years Food Safety & Quality, Yogurt experience is preferred. Certifications and specific knowledge • Solid knowledge of GFSI, HACCP, US food regulations, i.e. PMO, FDA • Solid knowledge of laboratory practices and dairy processing • Deep understanding of Food Safety & Quality as applied to our products • Understanding of statistical process control and application for product quality.
