ABOUT THE TEAM

The Maneuver Dominance team at Anduril develops operationally relevant, multi-asset autonomy. We are focused on making large groups of autonomous systems work effectively together. We leverage existing Anduril drone platforms like Ghost or Altius, in addition to bringing 3rd party platforms into Anduril's Lattice ecosystem.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing custom, map-based UI/UX for autonomous system command and control. You will work with customers to understand their requirements, design bespoke user interfaces with excellent user experiences. If you are someone who possess a "Whatever It Takes" mindset-executing in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way while keeping the mission top-of-mind and making sound engineering decisions then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Work with pilots and other drone users to understand how to design UX's to reduce cognitive burden while still ensuring safety of flight
  • Design, build, and deploy a real-time, map-based interface for displaying and interacting with sensor data and commanding physical assets
  • Fetch and manage large streams of data while maintaining performant rendering in a low-friction user experience
  • Build and design immersive image-viewing experiences on multiple platforms, including web-based and mobile 3D image viewing
  • Partner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints

CORE REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree
  • Experience working on frontend applications, especially data-intensive or map-based systems
  • 4+ years of professional experience using Javascript, Typescript, React.
  • Broad experience in delivering functional outcomes
  • A mindset towards innovative approaches of problem solving
  • Eligible to obtain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong background with focus in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Motion Planning to inform modeling & simulation (M&S) and physical systems
  • Developing and testing UI/UX for multi-agent autonomous systems and deploying in real-world environments
  • Feature and algorithm development with an understanding of behavior trees
  • Developing software for flight systems and safety critical functionality
  • Distributed communication networks and message standards


US Salary Range

$129,000-$220,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
