Full Job Description
Now, were looking for our first product hire - a Founding Product Manager to own product alongside the founders, define what we build, and build the product function from the ground up.

What Youll Do
  • Be our first product hire. Define what product means at FurtherAI: how we scope, decide, and ship - and grow the team beneath you as we scale.
  • Own product direction with the founders. Shape where the product goes, then turn that vision into a plan the team can build - from the first insight to the shipped feature and everything after.
  • Define the future of AI in insurance. Decide how our agents behave - what they automate, which tools they use, where a human stays in the loop - for the workflows that run a trillion-dollar industry.
  • Go deep on how insurance actually works. Sit with brokers, underwriters, and carriers, find the real pain, and turn messy real-world workflows into product that feels obvious.
  • Keep us building the right thing, fast. Make sure the team always has high-impact, well-scoped work ahead of it, and define what great looks like before we build it.
  • Set the bar for quality and taste across everything we ship.

Representative Projects
  • The Universal Assistant. One place an insurance professional can ask for anything - pull this brokers loss history, check it against our guidelines, draft the quote - and watch an agent read the documents, pull from their systems, and do it end to end. Youll define what it can do and how people come to trust it.
  • Let anyone build an agent. Today, building an automation takes an engineer. Youll shape the product that lets an underwriter describe what they want in plain English and get back a working, reliable agent - the shift that turns FurtherAI from a tool into a platform.
  • Agents that work a case for days. An agent that emails a broker for a missing document, waits, follows up by phone, and picks the case back up when the reply lands. Youll invent what it means to hand a multi-day, multi-channel job to an agent - and supervise it like a teammate.
  • Agents that get better on their own. Workflows that learn from every run, catch where they went wrong, and improve without an engineer touching them. Youll define what self-improving means in a product people bet real money on.

What Were Looking For
  • 5+ years in product, much of it at early-stage / high-growth companies where you steered direction.
  • A track record shipping products that transform real professional workflows in complex domains.
  • Technical enough to earn engineers trust - you reason fluently about agents and LLMs, prototype your ideas, and genuinely appreciate engineering tradeoffs. (You dont need to have shipped production code, but youre never hand-wavy.)
  • Deep intuition for LLMs and real excitement for turning AI capability into product people trust.
  • Strong discovery instincts - you tell stated needs from actual requirements, and define problems amid ambiguity without complete information.
  • Excellent written communication - you distill complexity into crisp, buildable specs.
  • Builder mentality - outcomes over process, high ownership. Youre accountable for what ships, not just what you hand off.

Nice to Have
  • Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services background.
  • Built a product from 01 and stood up the processes around it.
  • Experience with integration-first products embedded inside customers existing tools.
  • Comfort running your own quantitative analyses.

At FurtherAI, we set a high bar. Were not looking for someone who just wants a job - were looking for someone who wants to build something transformative and own a big piece of it. If you thrive where the pace is fast, expectations are high, and the rewards are outsized, youll love it here.
Benefits
  • Fully covered, best-in-class health, dental, and vision
  • Competitive compensation, meaningful stock options, company 401(k)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Outstanding in-office culture in the heart of San Francisco
  • Lunch and dinner onsite
  • Team events - happy hours and off-sites
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
