Full Job Description
Forward Deployed Strategy Manager
Location: Mclean, VA OR Richmond, VA | Work Environment: Hybrid
We're looking for a Forward Deployed Strategy Manager to serve as a technical translator on our forward deployment teams, working alongside our forward deployed engineers to help enterprise customers rapidly deploy AI-native solutions to complex supply chain and risk challenges, in days, not months. You'll own workstreams within customer implementations, translate customer needs into scoped requirements for the technical team, and help customers navigate change. As an AI-oriented company, we want an adept problem solver who can credibly help customers strategize agentic solutions on some of the most pressing, geopolitically sensitive issues they face.
What You'll Do
Own Workstreams & Customer Needs: Partner with customer stakeholders to understand their heaviest operational bottlenecks and translate vague problems into scoped requirements, then own workstreams from design through delivery and keep the broader program on track.
Technical Translator: Serve as the bridge between the customer and our technical team: communicate customer needs to our forward deployed engineers in terms they can build against, and steer customers toward designs that fit our platform's capabilities and rules.
Drive Change & Adoption: Lead workshops, design user-centric workflows, and train end users to ensure high adoption inside complex organizations.
Hands-on Data Analysis: Inspect customer data structures, validate data integrity, and run rapid prototyping and ad hoc analysis using SQL, Snowflake, Python, and R, and help customers strategize agentic solutions.
De-risk the Program: Bring structure to ambiguous environments by anticipating customer needs and program failure modes, and coordinate the internal and customer stakeholders who touch each workstream.
Product Feedback Loop: Act as the voice of the customer, abstracting client-specific needs into reusable platform capabilities and feeding field requirements back to product and engineering.
What You Need
Consulting Experience: 3-4 years in operations consulting (Deloitte, PwC, EY, Accenture, or similar), including delivering technology implementations or deployments.
The Hybrid Skill Set: A blend of technical aptitude (computational thinking, data manipulation) and elite communication, storytelling, and relationship-management skills.
Technical Baseline: Proficiency querying and analyzing datasets with SQL and Snowflake, and light scripting in Python and R, plus a solid understanding of how enterprise software, data architecture, and cloud environments operate. You'll need to be credible with technical counterparts and understand what is being built, but you won't be expected to build it yourself.
Ambiguity & Grit: A self-starter who is comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and under delivery pressure, and who brings structure to chaos.
Credibility: An adept problem solver who earns trust with both business and technical stakeholders, and can advise customers rather than take orders.
Mobility: US-based and a US citizen, with the ability to travel up to 25% to work directly with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in supply chain risk management (SCRM), or in SCRM combined with compliance (for example, trade, customs, or export compliance advisory).
Experience at a technology company in or adjacent to the SCRM and compliance space.
We're an amazing place to work. Why?
Discretionary Time Off for all employees, with no maximum limits on time off
Industry leading health, vision, and dental benefits
Competitive compensation package
16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
Flexible, hybrid approach to working from home and in the office where applicable
Focus on wellness and employee health through stipends and dedicated wellness programming
Purposeful career development programs with reimbursement provided for educational certifications
Artificial intelligence tools may be used to support candidate screening and evaluation.
