Position: Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Solutions)
Location: Remote (US/Canada) with ~30% client travel
Compensation: CA$110,000 - CA$140,000 CAD per year (commensurate with experience and location)

In this role, you will operate at the intersection of production software engineering and technical consulting. You will serve as the technical face of the platform to enterprise grocery and retail leaders across North America, writing production code, architecting data pipelines, and rapidly prototyping AI-driven workflows directly with customer stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing- Write Production Code (~70% of time): Design, build, and deploy customer-specific integrations, robust data pipelines, and AI-driven planning solutions using modern stacks (Go, TypeScript, GCP).
- Enterprise Technical Ownership: Act as the primary technical point of contact for 2-3 enterprise accounts, engaging executive stakeholders (VP-level) down to store operations and technical IT leads.
- Rapid Prototyping & Solutioning: Gather technical requirements, lead solution design workshops, and rapidly prototype functional concepts directly with client teams before rolling them into core production.
- Performance & SLA Accountability: Own customer KPI delivery, integration health, and SLA uptime for live environments deeply integrated with enterprise ERP systems.
- On-Site Collaboration (~30% Travel): Travel to client headquarters and operational facilities across North America (e.g., Phoenix, San Antonio, Jacksonville, Toronto) to accelerate deployments and deepen stakeholder alignment.
Qualifications & Requirements- Experience: 3-8 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in client-facing, forward-deployed, or technical delivery roles.
- Production Engineering Skills: Daily hands-on coding capability (not strictly high-level advisory or architecture); proficiency with Go, TypeScript, or comparable modern languages.
- Data & Cloud Infrastructure: Direct experience building and scaling production data pipelines on modern cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
- Product Mindset: Strong grasp of software lifecycle standards, system architecture, API design, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Workflow Agility: Comfortable leveraging modern AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development cycles and problem-solving.
- Communication & Multi-Account Execution: Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with the organizational ability to balance competing deadlines across multiple high-stakes enterprise accounts.
