This role focuses on leveraging AI to assess legacy applications for cyber risks and to identify specific vulnerabilities, supporting clients in their digital transformation journeys. Your key responsibilities- Collaborate with clients to identify high-value opportunities for generative AI, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled application modernization.
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications using large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and modern application frameworks.
- Build prototypes and proofs of concept, then help evolve successful solutions into secure, scalable production implementations.
- Integrate hosted and open-weight models into enterprise applications, business processes, data sources, APIs, and development workflows.
- Design and deploy open-weight models within client-controlled environments, including on-premises infrastructure equipped with NVIDIA GPUs.
- Use AI tools to review legacy applications, identify cyber-attack risks, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with clients to understand business needs and translate technical solutions into strategic outcomes
- Participate in client-facing engagements, workshops, and presentations
- Deliver value realization and strategy work, ensuring clients achieve measurable benefits from modernization effort
Skills and attributes for success - 1-5 years of experience in AI engineering, software engineering, application development, technology consulting, or related delivery roles, including relevant co-op or internship experience.
- Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, business technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong software-development fundamentals and experience building or integrating enterprise applications.
- Hands-on programming experience with one or more of:
- Python
- JavaScript or TypeScript
- Java
- C# and .NET
- Experience with AI-driven application development and modernization
- Experience working with GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code, APIs, source control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol clients, servers, tools, resources, and secure integration patterns.
- Experience integrating frontier models and managed AI services, such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or comparable platforms.
- Experience deploying or operating open-weight models such as Llama, Mistral, Gemma, Nemotron, or comparable model families.
- Experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes or another container-orchestration platform.
- Ability to analyze legacy systems for security vulnerabilities using AI
- Experience managing teams of 2-3 resources for project delivery.
- Strong communicator with experience presenting technology strategy to clients
- Strategic mindset with a focus on value delivery
- Eligible for federal government security clearance
Ideally, you'll also- Hold a degree in computer science, or a joint degree in computer science and business
- Have completed multiple internships in the technology sector, with hands-on experience in application development
- Demonstrate experience working in client-facing roles and supporting presentations

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
- Toronto: $90,500 to $115,000
