Full Job Description
Overview

This positionis located inJacksonville, Florida as part of Focus Factory Construction Engineering for the Virginia and Columbia Programs at the BAE Focus Factory. The Focus Factory Supervisor willbe responsible fordirectly contributing to the safe,efficientand continuous completion of construction activities in a manner that results in delivery of ships consistent with the design intent at BAE. This will involve developing and managing a team of engineers that will need to grow as the Focus Factory continues to ramp up, with themain focusto resolve technical construction and design issues that are primarily structural in discipline for Virginia and Columbia construction at BAE. This group will be tasked with developing construction and engineering processes that support new engineering software and tools.

The supervisor willinterface regularly withElectric Boat Operations on site at BAE, Program Office, and Cognizant Engineering departments to developtimelyresolutions to support an aggressive construction schedule for procurement as well as deck/module delivery with a focus on first time quality. Additionally, the supervisor will be expected to regularly brief Management and Program Office on issues that could cause delay to pertinent schedule dates and occasionally berequiredto brief the customer, whether that be SUPSHIP or NAVSEA, on high priority concerns and request approval via formal documentation. The supervisor willbe in charge ofproviding technical and professional guidance to aid in employee development. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineeringor Equivalent
  • The positionis required tobe on-site at BAE in Jacksonville, Florida
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience
  • DOD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previousand/or current supervisory experience
  • Strong technical understanding of structural engineering related principles and experience reviewing and analyzing structural deviations/design
  • Knowledge and working experience with lifting and handling
  • Knowledge and experience with Electric Boat business systems and tools
  • Waterfront or Construction Engineering experience
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter
Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills arerequiredtomaintaina relationship with Electric Boat Ops on Site at BAE and Program Offices.
  • The candidate must have a solid understanding of ship design, and construction.
  • Provenleadershipand ability to motivate a team
  • A demonstrated ability to present a positive and professional image to customers isrequired.
  • The candidate shoulddemonstratea history of leadership and mentorship.
  • Time flexibility isrequiredto support the construction schedule.
  • Some travel will berequired.
