Full Job Description
Application close date:
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

In this role you will be supporting the design, development, and testing of hardware for the New Glenn second stage (2E) as part of our Product Engineering Test Programs team! You will engage in all levels of the design cycle including trade studies and conceptual design, requirements definition, structural layout and analysis, integration, test and mission support. You will use creative thinking and novel manufacturing solutions to solve complex problems across various second stage subsystems which include fluid systems, high pressure gas, cryogenic propellants, post combustion products, and highly stressed structural hardware.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities:
• Conduct trade studies for 2E subsystem design and future upgrades across multiple product areas.
• Design, model, and analyze complex second stage subsystems including thermal fluid systems, structural components, and propulsion hardware.
• Drive hardware development through manufacturing and testing on schedule and within budget.
• Support implementation of designs through the entire product lifecycle, from initial trade studies through test, qualification, and on-orbit operations.
• Support and participate in component and system level testing and data analysis following design efforts.
• Develop and implement automation solutions across design, analysis, and testing workflows to streamline processes, reduce cycle time, and enable the team to scale efficiently toward New Glenn launch rate targets.

Minimum Qualifications:
• While possessing all the listed skills is beneficial, we value a hunger to learn and master your craft above all. If you share our commitment to excellence and are driven towards mastery, we invite you to join our team.
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
• Demonstrated experience with CAD and engineering drawings
• Strong application of first principles thermodynamics, heat transfer, solid mechanics, and fluid mechanics
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control relative to tubes/piping, machined components, and launch vehicle assemblies
• Working knowledge of cryogenic material properties and testing
• Experience with data acquisition systems
• Working knowledge of fluid and propulsion components (i.e., linear actuators, hydraulics, solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, regulators, pumps, instrumentation, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle subsystem design and analysis
• Demonstrated experience with fluid or structural component design and analysis
• Demonstrated experience with component or system level testing

Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35

Other site ranges may differ
