Job Summary
You will own the shared fleet and release automation function that Knightscope's device products (K5, K7, H1, K1H, ECD, and eventually Signals) all depend on. This is the earliest hire in the new centralized Engineering Services function because it is the highest-leverage: it unblocks the K7 beta prototype and the entire device rollout sequence.

About the Role

This is the earliest hire in the new centralized Engineering Services function because it is the highest-leverage: it unblocks the K7 beta prototype and the entire device rollout sequence.
Key Responsibilities
37Design, build, and operate the shared OTA and release pipeline across device products.
37Partner with Signals firmware engineers on unified OTA delivery.
37Establish release SLOs, rollback discipline, and an on-call rotation for fleet releases.
37Partner with DevOps and Platform to connect cloud pipelines to on-device delivery.
37Contribute to cross-product release standards through the Center of Engineering Excellence.
Required Qualifications
377+ years in embedded fleet operations or release engineering.
37Hands-on OTA update system design and operation.
37Strong experience with device fleets at scale.
37Release automation patterns (canary, staged, ring-based).
37Infrastructure-as-code fluency.
Nice to Have
37Robotics, security devices, or connected IoT products.
37Prior work standardizing release across multiple product lines.
37Regulated environment (safety-critical, security-critical) release experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $165,000 to $195,000 (DOE)
